A Subdiscipline of Distillation.
Founded as a distillery, CrownWorks applies the same methodical, process-led thinking to coffee — defining variables, refining methods, and prioritising balance and repeatability.
Sourcing
Coffee is selected for structure, balance, and how it performs within a controlled process.
Origins and lots are evaluated for consistency, traceability, and flavour profiles that reward precision rather than trend-led expression.
Ethical sourcing and fair compensation are treated as fundamentals, ensuring quality and responsibility sit at the start of the process.
Roasting
Roasting is treated as an engineered process
Working with a specialist roastery here in the Midlands, profiles are developed through measured adjustment, repeat testing, and documentation.
Temperature, airflow, and development time are refined incrementally, ensuring each roast delivers clarity, balance, and repeatability before release.
What is the Distiller’s Selection?
The Distiller’s Selection reflects how CrownWorks thinks about flavour across everything it creates. Although founded as a distillery, CrownWorks approaches coffee through the same lens — considering balance, structure, and how flavours interact over time.
These coffees are selected to align with the flavour profiles we value most, and to sit naturally alongside the spirits we are developing now and in the future. Rather than being fixed, the selection evolves as raw materials change. Weather, harvest conditions, and seasonal variation can all influence flavour, even within the same crop.
As those variables shift, the Distiller’s Selection adapts — refining or changing blends where necessary to ensure each release continues to meet the CrownWorks standard. The focus is not on permanence, but on selecting the right coffee at the right time.
The Distiller’s Selection represents a shared philosophy applied across coffee and distilling: process-led, considered, and intentional.
